NeoCarbon is reversing climate change and leading the transition to a carbon-negative world through CO₂ capture and reuse.

We use existing infrastructure in the form of cooling towers to perform Direct-Air-Capture (DAC) at up to 10x lower costs and time, which makes DAC mass-market ready. Indeed, millions of existing cooling towers around Europe continuously circulate massive amounts of air to remove heat from industrial plants and buildings. By efficiently retrofitting those towers, we remove the carbon dioxide from all this air at very low additional cost. Several billion tons of CO2 could be captured this way annually, a huge share of humanity’s long-term needs.


You will be working at a young start-up that aims to tackle one of humanity’s biggest challenges: reversing global warming. As a Mechanical & Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with our CTO Silvain and our Head of R&D Andrew to design, develop and implement components for our product concepts, along with defining their electrical and control system. You will collaborate with the chemical engineers to optimize our processes, keeping in mind manufacturability. You will be developing and conducting simulations of mechanical parts and flows involved in our system (eg. fluid and thermal flows), before validating results with hands-on prototyping, getting the chance to leverage cutting-edge 3D printing technologies. Finally, you will deliver technical specifications to our partners and suppliers to support manufacturing and installation of our products.


  • Work closely with the rest of the R&D team to define and size optimal components and equipment taking into account mechanical constraints, manufacturability, efficiency and costs
  • Get creative and hands-on to rapidly help design, build, and validate proof of concept prototypes
  • Lead the design and development of high volume components in our products, including the specifications and implementation of vacuum chambers under large temperature changes
  • Perform mechanical analysis to ensure minimal failure and risks in our component and product designs
  • Design CAD models to conduct CFD analysis to understand and optimize pressure drops and other fluid/thermal flows for our products
  • Create technical specifications for the electrical system, planning and executing the electrical engineering
  • Provide in-depth design, specifications and feedback for manufacturing and assembly to ensure that our designs are cost efficient, robust and capable of high quality results at scale
  • Approach work with open mind and flexibility. You will work in an environment of rapid learning and adjustment


  • Strong technical fundamentals in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and structural analysis
  • Experience in designing mechanical system taking into account manufacturability at scale, including simulations and risk analysis
  • Experience with reactors and other chemical plant equipment is a plus
  • Experience with CAD, preferably SOLIDWORKS
  • Experience with CFD, preferably COMSOL
  • Experience in planning electrical systems
  • Familiarity with the current standards and directives in electrical and automation engineering
